History
The sacred place of Sherisa was once part of the city of Sonpur in ancient times. Even today it is a splendid and delightful sacred place. The symbols of its antiquity, the relics and pillars of the year 1500 of the Vikram era, are seen even today. This idol was installed by Devendrasurisvarji as the idol of Lodhan Parsvanath in the 18th century. This place has a centuries old prosperity. Necessary innovations were accomplished from time to time. In the new temple last built by the rich merchant Sarabhai Dahyabhai of Ahmedabad in the year 2002 of the Vikram era, this idol was installed by Acharyashri Vijaynemisurishvarji on the 10th day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh.
